Join us in inspiring compassion
Call of Compassion NW answers the needs of people who are challenging old ideas and reconciling wrongs… people who are building what Dr. Martin Luther King Jr called “beloved community.” We invite you to explore and participate in some of these activities.

Interfaith InitiativesNorthwest Interfaith Community Outreach (NICO) leads our interfaith/interspiritual initiatives. We sponsor annual gatherings and celebrations, such as the Interfaith Seder, Interfaith Community Summit and the Interspiritual Celebration of Gratitude for Thanksgiving. NICO plays an important role as partner in each of our other sectors.

Youth At-PromiseMillennials Northwest heads up our Youth At-Promise initiatives. It is led by a team of six, four of whom are certified peer support specialists who have experienced recovery and are trained to help others in recovery. This team has over 10 years of experience providing peer support services to youth and families in the community.

Healing RacismBefore we address racism we must recognize it, understand it & own it. For an introduction, click here to view Bryan Stevenson's animated film "From Slavery to Mass Incarceration". To end racism, we must eradicate the curse of racial division and demonstrate that our diversity is our greatest asset. This goal promotes racial equity initiatives by facilitating interracial dialogue, fostering trusting relationships and inspiring collective compassionate action for justice. Please consider joining our initiatives.

Transforming Homelessness
Homelessness is a crisis in King County. In the absence of adequate, affordable shelter many people live in make-shift camps that move throughout the area. Love Wins Love and our partners believe that all people deserve a safe place to sleep. This is a reality that calls for us to help create a social culture and transform homelessness into a rare, brief and one-time occurrence. There are many ways for us all to help do this.

Art and ChangeArt and Change seeks to develop self compassion, build community, and motivate individuals to promote social change. Art can be used as a means to shape culture, cultivate imagination, and harness individual and social transformation. It can also be a catalyst to engage community members to take action around a social issue.

Community Festivals and Other Activities
Cultural and Creative Arts Festivals enrich our neighborhoods with an ethnic variety of music, dancing, food, art activities and interactive booths. Participation Partners bring the call of compassion to these events through collaborative services and performances to build trust and inspire compassionate action.

Honoring Beloved CommunityHonoring Beloved Community focuses on how people are answering the call of compassion by countering the spread of intolerance, hatred, and violence that has, in recent ears, become a truly global threat. We believe one solution is to focus on places of compassion which are essential for creating strong and cohesive communities.
